Scott Prouty Gives Voice To The Real Silent Majority: The American Worker

Last updated on July 21st, 2013 at 04:43 pm

Finding out the identity of the 47% videographer was nice, but Scott Prouty’s real contribution is that he has given a voice to America’s working class silent majority.

Repeatedly in the taped and live interview, Prouty made it clear that Romney’s stance on workers’ issues was his motivation for releasing the secetly recorded 47% video.

Throughout the interview Prouty made it clear that he is a working class person who was motivated by Mitt Romney’s refusal to tell working/middle class America the truth about how he really felt about them. Prouty said that Romney had no idea how most people who struggle get by in this country actually live, and he pointed to Romney’s comments about a Chinese factory that he toured as the turning point in his decision to release the video.

Prouty will be remembered by history as the man who shot the video that might have changed a presidential election, but Scott Prouty should be known as the man who stood up at a time when the wealthy and corporations are at the peak of their political power, and struck a blow for working and middle class in America. This one individual stood up for millions, and through his actions fought back against the plot by the one percent to buy the presidency.

We live in an era where “corporations are people too,” but one brave individual did more than possibly change the course of a presidential election. His video and interview have given a voice to the millions of decent Americans who work hard, pay their bills, and struggle to get by. Not since The Great Depression has survival been this difficult for so many, but the American worker still has heart, soul, and an indomitable spirit.

His greatest contribution to his country wasn’t the secret video. He has given millions something even more valuable.

At a time when it is most needed, Scott Prouty has given a voice to the true silent majority: The American worker.
