Rand Paul Says the GOP is Like Bad Pizza Crust

Rand Paul says the GOP is like bad pizza crust, and that like Dominoes, they should just admit it and fix the problem. But the problem with the GOP isn’t the crust: it’s the whole pizza. On Wednesday Paul told students at the University of California at Berkeley that, “the Republican Party needs to either evolve, adapt or die.”

Remember when Domino’s finally admitted they had bad crust? Think Republican Party. Admit it; bad crust. We need a different kind of party.

Rand Paul has already pushed for cosmetic changes to the Republican Party, claiming earrings and tattoos will save Texas for the GOP. Now it’s pizza crust. Mainstream media outlets like CNN will report this reasonable-sounding Rand Paul without providing context. I am going to take care of that deficit right here, right now.

As I have said here before, Christian nationalist and serial platiarist Rand Paul (R-KY) is dishonest and lacks integrity. Remember how he lied by claiming he never opposed the Civil Rights Act? How he brazenly lied to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly about whether or not the President has the right use drones to kill American citizens leading terrorists abroad? Remember how he hired a pro-secessionist white supremacist for his congressional staff, and then acted like it really didn’t mean anything? Or when he called Rachel Maddow a “hater” because she actually demands honesty and facts? He even blamed President Obama for the government shutdown, after the GOP was very public about planning the whole shutdown. What makes all this worse is that Rand Paul revealed he doesn’t even understand the separation of powers, which he demonstrated on Fox News Sunday while criticizing Obama for not understanding the separation of powers.

And this is the man who says HILLARY should never hold office again.

Oh dear.

Look at some of the other crazy things Paul has said and done during his tenure in office:

• All Democrats are sexual predators because of Bill Clinton;
• Blamed Hillary Clinton for Bill Clinton’s infidelity with Monica Lewinsky;
• Screwed the unemployed by arguing against extending unemployment benefits, while actually claiming he was doing them a favor;
• Called Harry Reid a bully for blocking continued Republican efforts to obstruct the Obama administration;
• Invented a “unilateral war” on Syria on Meet the Press. Don’t you wish somebody would ask him today how the American effort is going?;
• Claimed liberal elites want to exterminate Christians;
• Wants to eliminate the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Finally, Rand Paul, who opposed the Voting Rights Act, and who has said racism and discrimination are rights, is now saying,

Think about it. If you’re African American, Japanese American, Jewish American, Hispanic – have there every been times when the government didn’t treat you fairly? Have there ever been times when you said, you know what, the war on drugs has had a racial outcome.

Notice how he blamed that ill-treatment on the government, not on the conservatives who drafted the legislation and are still drafting the legislation to treat minorities like second-class citizens?

Maybe a candidate who would stand up and say everybody deserves their day in court. The law should not have a racial outcome,” he said. “Maybe then people would say, ‘I always hated those Republicans and their crust sucks but maybe there’s some new Republicans.’ Maybe there will be a new GOP.

Well, a new pizza crust at any rate. The rest of the pizza is going to be filled with the same old ingredients of hate, exclusion, racism, bigotry, starving children, and voter suppression.

Don’t hold your breath for a new GOP. That isn’t happening. And Rand Paul knows better. By “new crust” he means smiling while he says all the crazy things he says, or maybe getting some new suits or ties. Look, this is the guy who thinks an earring or a tattoo changes the essential nature of a person. It’s all smoke and mirrors. And deceit.

The Republican Party has become an organized crime syndicate, and Rand Paul is running for Godfather. The only difference is, they’re not robbing banks. Rather, they’re helping banks rob the American people, and lining their pockets and the pockets of their rich friends, every step of the way. The pizza crust simile was, at least, apt. Maybe he subconscious mind let the cat out of the bag.

Good for the cat. Because it was about to get tossed into the harbor along with all your hopes and dreams. Whatever you do, don’t let this guy kiss you on both cheeks.
