Democrat Slams GOP: Reality Refutes the Republican Attempt to Destroy Obamacare

After the White House announced Tuesday that the total number of people who have signed up for private insurance plans on the health marketplaces has exceeded 7 million, Obamacare officially crossed the latest threshold to victory.

Upon this news, Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) slammed the GOP with the fact that reality has trumped Republican rhetoric, once again. “The amount of interest in the insurance exchanges demonstrates that the reality experienced in health care reform refutes the Republican rhetoric to destroy it. The endless Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act flies in the face of the desire among millions of Americans to have comprehensive health coverage.”

Nothing, including reality, will stop the Republican-led House from their jihad against what Americans want and need. They just keep wasting money, time and resources on fake Obamacare repeal votes for their campaigns.

Levin detailed why Americans ran to sign up and why even those who already have insurance are benefiting under Obamacare, “Americans have spoken by the millions in their desire for more affordable, comprehensive health insurance. Insurance that can’t kick them off when they get sick. Insurance that can’t limit lifetime coverage. Insurance that doesn’t threaten to bankrupt their families when an illness strikes.”

Yep. As I’ve been saying ever since the media started parroting the idiotic idea that no one would sign up because there were glitches, the human will to live is much stronger than irritation over a website glitch. People don’t care about policy bickering in D.C. They care about their loved ones getting the medical help they need.

Justin Baragona explained earlier that the official number is 7,041,000, but “this does not include any enrollment figures from Monday for the separately run state-based exchanges.” Additionally, “(T)here are still people that are eligible to complete their applications for insurance over the next couple of weeks.”

No one should be surprised that reality proved the Democrats correct, since the only reason they worked so hard to reform healthcare was because they listened to the people. In other words, Obamacare served a real need. Thus, it was easy to predict that people would actually sign up for it. This was not hard to figure out, but it makes Democrats look like geniuses compared to Republicans.

The question is, how long until Republicans take credit for the success of Obamacare? For a party with no shame, it’s never too soon to make fools of themselves.
