Republicans Drive Off The Crazy Cliff By Comparing Hillary Clinton Emails To Nixon

The Republican crazy train is already derailing over the Hillary Clinton emails. House Select Benghazi Committee member Rep. Peter Roskam is already comparing Clinton to Richard Nixon.

Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) said in a statement:

For months the Select Committee has pressed the State Department for access to all communications from key officials on watch during the Benghazi terrorist attacks. Yet until last week the Administration failed to mention that countless e-mails from Secretary Clinton have been missing from this search because she exclusively used private accounts during her tenure. This disturbing revelation raises serious questions regarding whether Secretary Clinton complied with federal record keeping requirements and the Obama administration’s record policies. The last time we saw a high government official seeking to edit their own responses was President Nixon, and at least then he enjoyed the benefit of executive privilege. We have said from the beginning that our investigation would follow the facts wherever they lead us—and we intend to keep that promise by reviewing all of the relevant facts and documents in order to issue the definitive report on what happened before, during, and after the terrorist attacks in Benghazi.

The fact is that Republicans are already getting desperate on the Clinton emails. Anytime a Republican compares a Democrat to Richard Nixon; they have nothing. Republicans have been trying for decades to transfer the stain that was Nixon presidency on to the Democratic Party. The name Richard Nixon is Republican code for we’ve got nothing. Rep. Roskam and his fellow House Republicans have taken a conspiracy theory (Benghazi) and morphed it into a Nixonian plot by Hillary Clinton.

The real purpose of the House Benghazi committee has been revealed. Benghazi isn’t a quest for truth. It is a sham committee that set up to smear Hillary Clinton. House Republicans are dreaming of an Obama/Clinton Benghazi conspiracy that will set the nation afire and power their party back into the White House in 2016.

It had taken Republicans a day or so before they went completely insane over the Clinton emails. The Nixon comparisons are a sure sign that this latest attempt at a Hillary Clinton scandal is going nowhere fast.
