Chris Christie Demands an Apology from the Media, Whines That Hillary Clinton Is Getting Off Easy

Chris Christie’s very public mental collapse continued today with a demand that the media apologize to him for reporting the facts on Bridgegate.

Video:

Sure, two of Governor Chris Christie’s (R-NJ) aides are facing criminal charges for shutting down traffic on the George Washington Bridge to get back at a Democratic mayor who didn’t endorse Christie (neener-neener!) and another is “cooperating” with the feds (read: singing), but like Nixon, Christie is blaming the media. It’s a conspiracy to treat the 2016 hopeful badly.

During an interview on CNBC, Christie said, “I do believe there’s an absolute bias and a rush to judgment. You all know this, you saw the coverage of me 15 months ago. I was guilty, I had done it. Now we’re 15 months later, where are the apologies pouring in? Not one thing I said the day after the bridge situation has been proven wrong.”

Also, Christie is whining that Secretary Hillary Clinton, who has been absolutely pummeled by the media over what turned out to be nothing more than right-wing conspiracies published and serialized by hopeful media outlets, is getting off easy. It’s not fair when the minorities get everything so easy.

Instead of admitting that maybe, when his own state paper that endorsed him now thinks he has lost touch with reality, he could be wrong, Christie is going full on Nixon self-pity.

No one knows yet whether or not Chris Christie ordered the lane closures on the bridge or just knew about it or knew nothing. David Wildstein, the aide who is cooperating, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and said there is evidence that Christie knew all about the lane closures as they were happening.

It’s kind of a stretch to imagine Christie’s aides just deciding to get even with a Democratic mayor who didn’t support him, all on their own, because that kind of dedicated pettiness comes from a specific kind of mind. The kind of mind that finds itself mired in self-pity, à la Nixon or Sarah Palin – – both of whom were found guilty of abusing their power to get retribution against people they viewed as enemies. (Hard to imagine how a mayor of the other party is guilty of being an enemy just because they didn’t support a re-election campaign, but perhaps this is Christie’s idea of “freedom”.)

The governor of New Jersey seems to be in the midst of a mental breakdown. He is blaming the media for something that his administration did. It is unfathomable that Christie still believes that he could be elected to serve as the next president in 2016 given that he is also reported to be at the center of a federal investigation into the quashing of the indictments in a Hunterdon County corruption investigation.

“Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.” Indeed.

And now it’s time for the whining.
