The Republican-driven Hillary Clinton email scandal suffered another blow as the FBI refused a request from a Republican-appointed judge for information.
Judge Emmet Sullivan is handling an FOIA case related to the emails that was filed by the conservative group Judicial Watch. Sullivan asked the FBI for information, and the FBI’s General Counsel James Baker shot down the request, “At this time, consistent with long-standing Department of Justice and FBI policy, we can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any ongoing investigation, nor are we in a position to provide additional information at this time.”
This response led to Republicans blowing a collective gasket, as Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) accused the FBI of acting like they are above the law, “The FBI is behaving like it’s above the law. Simply refusing to cooperate with a court-ordered request is not an appropriate course of action. This entire case, from Secretary Clinton’s ill-advised decision to use a non-government email server, to the FBI’s investigation about classified information, needs some transparency in order to assure the American people that getting to the bottom of this controversy is a priority.”

The FBI is not going to play along with the coordinated Republican witch hunt. Republicans are throwing a fit because they are watching their email scandal slowly fade away. Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers are rising. The negative media coverage of the Republican pushed scandal is fading away.
Former Sec. Clinton has been cleared numerous times of the Republican allegations of wrongdoing and criminal activity. The email scandal has never caught on with voters. As summer turns to fall, the email scandal is being pushed to the back pages, as the latest Republican effort to stop Hillary Clinton is looking like a dud.
