Mike Huckabee Defends Child Molester Josh Duggar But Calls Obama A Fake Christian

Former Governor Mike Huckabee, the guy who defended serial sexual abuser Josh Duggar, accused President Obama of pretending to be a Christian.

While speaking to Newsmax TV for “The Hard Line”, Huckabee was asked about opponent Ben Carson’s comments that a Muslim shouldn’t be President.

The Republican should be rewarded for getting the first part right, as unlike many of his fellow Republicans, he understands that there is actually no religious test for office. But then came the Obama pivot, and you know when Republicans talk about Obama, they start frothing at the mouth and saying incoherent, hateful things. And Huckabee has it bad.

Listen here, h/t to CNN:

So Huckabee pivoted to Glenn Beck/Sarah Palin Republican world, where vague suggestions are built into truths by playing fallacy games. Huckabee started off by saying that he isn’t concerned about what faith a person is, he’s more concerned about the “authenticity of their faith and how that plays out in their politics.”

So, Obama isn’t an authentic Christian, and Huckabee perhaps feels qualified to make this call because as a buddy of child sexual abusers, he has been anointed. If there is one thing that says Jesus, it’s taking advantage of the weak and defenseless, after all.

But wait, lest you think I’m jumping the gun, he continued. “I’m also concerned about a guy that believes he’s a Christian and pretends to be and then says he is, but then does things that makes it very difficult for people to practice their Christian faith.”

Ohhhh. President Obama is making it hard for Mike Huckabee to practice his Christian faith. Well, that’s as good an excuse as “the dog ate my homework”, I guess. Dear God, don’t blame Mike. It’s Obama’s fault!

Now what in the world makes Mike Huckabee feel that Obama is ruining the Christian faith? Hang on to your hats. It’s the WAY Obama is. The way he invited the Pope into his home and then actually had the Pope meet with people who might not follow the same faith.

Don’t look now, but Mike Huckabee is not a Catholic. He’s a Southern Baptist. So maybe he shouldn’t be talking about or to the Pope. Or President Obama. Shhhhhh.

“I’m disappointed if someone says, ‘I’m a Christian’, but you invite the pope into your home and then you invite a whole bunch of people who are at odds with the Catholic Church policy,” Huckabee said, metaphorically completing the Glenn Beck chalkboard circles known to finish Republican arguments. ”

I think there’s something very unseemly about that,” Huckabee concluded, laying claim to moral high ground.

Mike Huckabee knows the Republican version of Christianity. After all, he led “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”

But this version of Christianity is not shared by all Christians, so perhaps Huckabee would have been well served to take a cue from President Obama, who values inclusion and respect. Maybe Mike Huckabee should have invited some people to his house who don’t agree with him that hate is a family value. Maybe Mike Huckabee should have invited victims of child sexual assault to his house before he defended a serial abuser.

Mike Huckabee thinks being a Christian is about exclusion. He thinks it’s about only talking to people who agree with you. Which is sort of the opposite of what the Bible teaches.

Mike Huckabee has a super bad case of Obama Derangement Syndrome, which can be seen in all of the Republican Party’s biggest losers. Huckabee is starting to froth in impotent rage, which is never a good sign for a presidential candidate. It usually means that quitting is right around the corner.

But hey, God, it’s Obama’s fault!
