Hillary Clinton Campaign Accuses Sanders Camp Of Stealing Data And Maybe Breaking The Law

During a conference call with reporters, including PoliticusUSA, Hillary Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook accused the Sanders campaign misrepresenting the data breach. The Clinton camp is accusing Sanders staffers of stealing data that revealed the strategy of the Clinton campaign in early voting states.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said that the Sanders campaign has misrepresented the data breach. Mook said, “This is data that took millions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours to build.” The stolen data is compilation contained a model of their strategy in the early states. Anyone who accessed it had access to the fundamental details of the campaign.

Mook said, “This breach is totally unacceptable and may have been a violation of the law.” He said that the Clinton campaign is disturbed that the Sanders campaign would try to raise money off of the act of stealing data.

The campaign said that it is critical that each campaign only has access to data that belongs to it, and they want to be reassured that no one else has any access to their data.

Mook made the bombshell allegation that multiple staffers took data from their voter file and saved it in a file on their accounts. He repeated that their campaign took data, and the situation needs to be rectified so that everyone can get back to campaigning.

The Clinton campaign made it clear that this is a matter between the DNC and the Sanders campaign. The Clinton campaign said that the logs show that Sanders staffers attempted on 24 occasions to save Clinton data. The logs also revealed that a Sanders staffer tried to copy the data into an Excel spreadsheet.

The Clinton camp wants a full accounting of what the Sanders staff did, and they want assurances that they no longer have their data. They also called for an independent audit to make sure that the Sanders campaign does not have their data.

The Clinton campaign made it clear that this matter is between the Sanders campaign and the DNC. All that they want is for the Sanders campaign to come clean about what happened, and they want to be sure that the Sanders campaign does not have any Clinton data in their possession.

Clinton staffers also said that no member of their campaign had seen Sanders data or stolen it.

No matter who one supports in this campaign, it is clear that the Clinton campaign was victimized by this data breach that occurred on Wednesday. Data is the lifeblood of modern presidential campaigns, so the data breach could do serious damage to the Clinton campaign.
