Donald Trump has very little to offer the American people, particularly in terms of actual policy proposals.
Sure, he has his fantasy wall that Mexico will magically pay for, and of course that unconstitutional ban on Muslims from entering the country. But these aren’t really policy proposals as much as they are attempts to appeal to people’s fears and prejudices in order to win votes.
To distract from his campaign’s utter emptiness, he often says things ranging from ridiculous and offensive to reckless and childish.
Today in Virginia, Trump hit the childish end of the spectrum head on in an attack on Hillary Clinton’s “middle name.”
Video:
During the campaign stop, Trump asked the crowd (in the same tone a child would ask a knock-knock joke), “Why did Hillary get rid of her middle name? No, but why did she get rid of it?”
The GOP nominee went on to say that she doesn’t go by Hillary Rodham Clinton anymore because it sounds “too close” to Hillary ‘Rotten’ Clinton.
Even in Trump’s attempt to mimic a fourth-grade bully, he couldn’t get the facts straight.
‘Rodham’ is not Hillary Clinton’s middle name; it’s her maiden name. Diane is her middle name. For a man who constantly repeats his own middle initial, you’d think he would know the difference the two.
In the same speech, Trump also bragged about his sleeping habits and attacked Clinton’s.
Video:
“She’ll go home, she’ll take a nap for four or five hours then come back,” he said in his speech. “No naps for Trump!”
Like the small children Trump emulates on a daily basis, perhaps a nap is just what this spray-tanned buffoon needs.
