The Senate Democrats’ plan to slow President Trump agenda to a crawl is working as Trump has fewer nominees confirmed by day 41 of his presidency than any other president.

Part of the reason why Trump has fewer nominees confirmed is ineptitude of his administration. Trump hasn’t offered nominees for over 600 positions that require Senate confirmation, but the big reason why Donald Trump is talking a lot while getting very little done is that Senate Democrats had a clear strategy to slow down the President that they have implemented to perfection.
Democrats are using Senate rules perfectly to their advantage. Trump’s administration was never going to be well organized and hit the ground running. That is not how President Trump operates. Trump creates a world of micromanaged chaos where he rewards loyalty over competence.
His inability to function as a professional was an easy weakness for Democrats to exploit.
Republicans will blame Democrats for “obstruction,” but they have no room to talk on that front after the way they treated President Obama.
Senate Democrats had a goal of grinding Trump’s first 100 days to a halt, and that is exactly what they have done. Congressional Republicans have passed zero pieces of major legislation. Trump has signed nothing major.
With the 2018 midterms around the corner, the clock is ticking on Trump and the Republicans.
Thanks to Democrats, they have next to nothing to show for their efforts.
