Donald Trump is trying to rewrite history one tweet at a time. On Monday, Trump took credit for Obama’s success on jobs, the economy, illegal immigration, and terrorism.

Trump tweeted:
Everything that Trump cited as his own accomplishment, actually belongs to Obama. Take job growth for example, as The New Yorker pointed out, “If you look at employment rather than at G.D.P., the Obama recovery looks much stronger. Since the start of 2010, the U.S. economy has created about 2.4 million jobs per year. During the Bush recovery of 2002-2007, annual job growth was just 1.2 million. In terms of jobs, the Obama recovery compares with the Clinton recovery, of the nineteen-nineties, when approximately 2.8 million jobs were created each year.”
On terrorism, it was Obama who got Bin Laden and made it a priority to take out terrorists. On immigration, Obama controversially deported more people than any other president. The Obama economic record is well known, and his streak of monthly job growth is unlikely to be touched by another president for a very long time.
In contrast, Trump has no legislative accomplishments of his own and has done nothing beyond the minimal basic duties of the presidency. Trump has been insanely jealous of Obama’s popularity and accomplishments for years, and his jealousy is spilling over into an attempt to turn Obama’s accomplishments into his own.
