Trump Is Failing As A Jobs President As Obama Created More Jobs Last June

The economy did add 222,000 jobs in June of 2017, but that is 77,000 fewer Jobs than Obama added in June of 2016.

NBC News’s Mark Murray tweeted the jobs table:

Murray is correct. Job growth has been very consistent for the past five years, and that is terrible news for Donald Trump because the entire Trump agenda is predicated on magic economic growth. The US economy is projected to grow at 1.8% over the next decade. Trump’s own budget requires 3% growth in order to balance.

For Trump, maintaining Obama’s economic recovery equals failure. The Trump White House will try to sell these jobs numbers as a great success, but don’t be fooled. Trump has had two full months since he became president where the jobs numbers were better than Obama’s. If this trend continues, Trump will create fewer jobs than Obama.

Trump has promised to create 25 million new jobs, but as it stands, he isn’t even close to that goal, and without a major summer jobs surge, he will fall short of Barack Obama’s 2016 numbers.

To put it in a way that even Trump can understand, this president is losing to Obama on jobs.
