More than 600,000 people selected health insurance plans on the exchange in the first four days of open enrollment despite the efforts of Trump and the Republicans to sabotage the law.

The Washington Post reported, “Some 601,462 Americans chose a health plan from Nov. 1-4 in states relying on the federal exchange, the figures released Thursday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services show. While CMS officials did not provide a direct comparison with any of the four previous enrollment periods, administration officials said that more than 200,000 consumers selected plans on the first day, more than double the number last year. The officials spoke about the first-day figure on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to disclose it.”
Remember when Trump proclaimed Obamacare dead?
In October, Trump said, “You shouldn’t even mention it. It’s gone. There is no such thing as Obamacare anymore.”
Don’t tell Trump, but people are still flocking to Obamacare. Instead of killing the law, the high profile acts of Republican sabotage have only made demand stronger. More people understand the urgency of getting on the exchange and picking out their plan. Republicans are playing with a kind of fire that they don’t understand. In Virginia on Tuesday, the number one issue for voters was health care. The Republican sabotage is backfiring, as they are being punished for their efforts to take healthcare away from 20-30 million Americans.
If Trump continues to sabotage Obamacare, he is going to cost Republicans the Congress.
Voters are speaking and loudly saying to Trump and the GOP, “Keep your hands off of our Obamacare.”
