Dozens Of Protesters Arrested In The Senate As People Warn Tax Cuts For The Rich Will Kill Them

At least a dozen protesters were arrested as the Senate Budget Committee advanced the tax cuts for the rich that would also take healthcare away from 13 million Americans. The protesters chanted, “Don’t kill us. Kill the bill.”

Tax reform is complicated, and most people were not paying attention until Republicans had the idea of attaching the individual mandate repeal to the tax cuts for the wealthy. The tax cut bill is wildly unpopular. It has an approval rating of 25%, and it takes some twisted logic to understand why Republicans believe that they must pass this bill. Republicans think they have to pass it to survive the 2018 election, but the bill is so disliked that it is only going to add fuel to the fire that already has voted enraged ahead of the 2018 election.

With only days to go until the bill potentially passes the Senate, Americans are starting to wake up and realize that the shameful Republican tax cuts for the rich must be stopped.
