When Jones described what his campaign was about, it was clear that his victory was powered by forces that Trump has been trying to stomp out, “We have built this, everywhere we have gone. We have had that same energy. We’ve had that same excitement. At the end of the day, this entire race has been about dignity and respect. This campaign, this campaign has been about the rule of law. This –This campaign has been about common courtesy and decency, and making sure everyone in this state, regardless of which zip code you live in, is going to get a fair shake in life.”

Trump’s daily tweets are a personal effort to take dignity and respect away from people. The Trump administration ignores the rule of law as a foundation of their non-governance. This is a president who believes that he can’t be charged with a crime. Common courtesy and decency have been under assault from Trump, and his beloved tax bill provides all the breaks for the wealthy while raising taxes on everyone else.

What happened in Alabama was a rejection of Trumpism as personified by Roy Moore.

When the history of this nation under Trump is written, the victory by Doug Jones will go down as the turning point when America took back its soul.
