The FBI is investigating leads from a second Trump/Russia dossier that corroborates some of the details in the Steele dossier.
The Guardian reported:
The FBI inquiry into alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 US presidential election has been given a second memo that independently set out many of the same allegations made in a dossier by Christopher Steele, the British former spy.

The second memo was written by Cody Shearer, a controversial political activist and former journalist who was close to the Clinton White House in the 1990s.

However, the Guardian has been told the FBI investigation is still assessing details in the ‘Shearer memo’ and is pursuing intriguing leads. One source with knowledge of the inquiry said the fact the FBI was still working on it suggested investigators had taken an aspect of it seriously.
The Shearer memo doesn’t have the same built-in source credibility that came with the Steele dossier, but the fact that the FBI has taken an interest in parts of it suggests that they view at least some of it as worth taking a look at.
It is State Of The Union day, and Republicans are trying to avoid any mention of the Russia scandal, but the scandal is always the dark cloud that hangs over every single moment of this president. The White House is pretending that the Trump presidency is successful and that there is much to celebrate, but more than a year after taking office the stink of illegitimacy still hangs in the air.
Trump could fire Rosenstein and then Mueller today, and it wouldn’t matter. If Democrats take back any part of Congress, the Russia investigation will roar back to life. There is no hiding from it or action that Trump can take to make it go away.
Donald Trump will give his State Of The Union engulfed in the ever-present Russia scandal shadow that will always be at his side until his presidency is brought to an end.
