The Washington Post reported:
Still, Trump’s friends are increasingly concerned about his well-being, worried that the president’s obsession with cable commentary and perceived slights is taking a toll on the 71-year-old. “Pure madness,” lamented one exasperated ally.
….
“Trump’s fundamentally distorted personality — which at its core is chaotic, volatile and transgressive — when combined with the powers of the presidency had to end poorly,” said Peter Wehner, a veteran of the three previous Republican administrations and a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “What we’re now seeing is the radiating effects of that, and it’s enveloped him, his White House, his family and his friends.”
The warnings are growing about Trump’s increasingly declining mental state. Words like madness are being tossed around more and more often by people inside or close to the White House. Trump’s own cabinet is never going to pull the trigger on the 25th Amendment, so that is not an option.
The only path to possibly removing Trump is through impeachment. Although with 67 votes needed to convict and remove the president from office, that itself will be no easy task, but waiting until the 2020 election will be too late. Since Congress in its current form won’t act, it is up to the American people to save the country by voting for a Democratic Congress in November. Trump is fading fast, but the American people see the urgency that Congress and Trump’s Congress do not.
The time to act is now.
