David Hogg Not Backing Down On Laura Ingraham: ‘A Bully Is A Bully’

Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg won’t be letting Fox News host Laura Ingraham off the hook any time soon. Ingraham has rightfully come under fire after tweeting a message on Wednesday mocking 17-year-old Hogg for not getting accepted into four universities and painting him as a whiner for being rejected.

In response, Hogg called for sponsors of Ingraham’s show to cut ties with her program. So far, 11 advertisers have said they would be ending their partnerships with Ingraham.

The TV host took to Twitter on Thursday, after several sponsors had dropped her show, to apologize to Hogg “in the spirit of Holy Week” with a message that ended by praising her program being the first to feature Hogg after the shooting and for referring to him as “poised.”

Hogg rejected the apology, saying he found it disingenuous that she would say sorry only after seeing the impact her words had had on advertisers, especially when she’d tweeted numerous times after the initial tweet and showed no signs of remorse.

In a Saturday interview with CNN, reiterated that he found her apology insincere and also pointed out the fact that Ingraham has a pattern of bullying others and of hardly ever apologizing.

“My biggest takeaway from this is that when somebody — no matter who somebody is, no matter how powerful they may seem — a bully is a bully and it’s important that you stand up to them,” he said.

He added, “There have been multiple instances throughout Ingraham’s professional career where she’s tried calling out multiple people, for example, at Dartmouth University because of their sexual orientation. She told Lebron James to ‘shut up and dribble.’ I don’t see any apology for those people.”

Hogg then said he felt glad to see corporate America standing in solidarity with the Parkland shooting survivors and emphasized that, by standing together, anything can be accomplished.
