Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen all but admitted he was guilty on Wednesday by sharing his plans to plead the fifth in the lawsuit between him and Stormy Daniels.

In court documents, Cohen said: “I will assert my 5th amendment rights in connection with all proceeding in this case due to the ongoing criminal investigation by the FBI and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.”
According to The Hill, “Cohen said the FBI raids earlier this month on his residence, office and hotel room — and the ongoing criminal probe they represent — are behind the decision not to offer testimony in the California lawsuit.”
While he is within his rights to plead the fifth, Cohen’s decision all but admits that he’s guilty of something.
Don’t take my word for it that there is something suspicious about Cohen’s decision to exercise his Fifth Amendment rights.
Just ask Donald Trump.
As MSNBC’s Steve Benen brilliantly noted a short time ago on Twitter, Trump himself said in 2016 that innocent people don’t utilize the Fifth Amendment.
“The mob takes the Fifth Amendment,” Trump said two months before the 2016 presidential election. “I think it is disgraceful.”
At the end of the day, it’s no longer a question that Donald Trump and Michael Cohen are terrified of where this investigation is heading. Their behavior speaks for itself.
Trump spent an entire career engaging in shady and possibly illegal activities – whether it’s the business side of the equation or his frequent payoffs of women he slept with – and these investigations are about to expose it once and for all.
