Nicolle Wallace laid to waste the idea that the FBI informant on the Trump campaign was part of a “deep state conspiracy” with a single fact.

Wallace said on her MSNBC show Deadline: White House, ” You brought us right to the heart of the president’s source of his agitation, this informant. He said erroneously said I believe that this person gained financially. That’s not true from anything I’ve read. Your paper has some reporting from your colleagues. Let me read this to you. So you guys report that the White House to convene GOP lawmakers to review classified information on the FBI source. The source at issue is Stefan Halper. A veteran of the Nixon, Ford, and Reagan administrations — see, this doesn’t sound like a deep state conspiracy to me.”
The “deep state” a.k.a. the Republican Party is investigating Trump. All of these supposed Deep State figures in this investigation are Republicans. James Comey, Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein, are Republicans. There is no FBI or Department of Justice conspiracy to get Trump. It is all Trump’s way of villainizing those who are investigating him. Devin Nunes is going to leave the White House after the sham Thursday meeting and breathlessly declare that the documents that he has seen vindicate Trump, and he will probably also call for the appointment of an immediate second special counsel.
Trump and his allies are out to discredit the FBI and end the Russia investigation, and if they have to use a dumb deep state conspiracy that defies all common sense to do it, that is what they are going to do.
