Art Of The Deal Ghostwriter Says Mueller Has Trump ‘Dead To Rights’ On A ‘Blizzard Of Crimes’

The man who co-authored ‘The Art of the Deal’ with Donald Trump said on Thursday that he believes Robert Mueller has the president “dead to rights” and there is nothing he can do to save himself.

“He knows he’s not going to wind his way out of that,” Tony Schwartz said in an interview with MSNBC’s Ari Melber.

At this point, Schwartz said, the only thing Trump can do is repeatedly lie in an attempt to undermine the credibility of Mueller and the FBI.

SCHWARTZ: I believe that [Trump] is fully aware that Mueller and perhaps the New York investigators have got him dead to rights. He knows that he’s not going to wind his way out of that, except by lying and lying means destroying their credibility by saying things that aren’t true.

MELBER: You think that — I mean, you’ve worked around him, as we’ve noted, you think that what Michael Cohen has could be bad for Trump?

SCHWARTZ: You know, I was tempted to say, “I don’t think, I know.” But that maybe is one — that probably is too strong. I have an overwhelming feeling that there are a blizzard of crimes that Michael Cohen was well aware of, in fact, helped to engineer.

Trump has told thousands of lies since taking office

As The Washington Post noted earlier this month, Trump has told over 3,000 lies since taking office. That’s 6.5 lies per day.

As the noose of the Mueller investigation continues to tighten around the president, the pace of the lies and baseless conspiracy theories seems to be picking up.

His newest narrative is that the FBI inserted a spy into his campaign in an effort to help Hillary Clinton.  Of course, that is completely false.

Ultimately, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Trump knows he is guilty. His only remaining option is to muddy the waters and create an alternate reality for him and his supporters.

In the event that Mueller throws the legal hammer down on Trump, which looks more and more likely, the president is hoping these lies will provide him enough political cover to avoid possible impeachment .
