Weak Trump Flip-Flops For The 4th Time In 3 Days On Russian Election Meddling

Trump has flipped-flopped again and now told CBS News that he thinks that the Russians interfered in the 2016 election.

CBS Evening News Anchor Jeff Glor: So you agree with U.S. Intelligence that Russia meddled in the election in 2016?

Trump: Yeah, and I’ve said that before, Jeff. I have said that numerous times before. And I would say that that is true, yeah.

Glor: But you haven’t condemned Putin specifically. Do you hold him personally responsible?

Trump: Well, I would because he’s in charge of the country, just like I consider myself to be responsible for things that happen in this country. So certainly as the leader of a country, you would have to hold him responsible, yes.

Glor: What did you say to him?

Trump: Very strong on the fact that we can’t have meddling, we can’t have any of that. I let him know we can’t have this. We’re not going to have it. And that’s the way it’s going to be.

This is laughable.

On Monday, Trump claimed that he believed Putin and said that Russia didn’t meddle in the election.

On Tuesday, Trump said he supports the assessment of the US intelligence agencies that Russia did meddle in the election.

On Wednesday morning, Trump took that back when he said that Russia isn’t targeting the US.

On Wednesday afternoon, his press secretary Sarah Sanders said that Trump never said that.

Less than two hours after Sanders spoke, Trump is now back to saying that Russia meddled in the election.

This is not difficult. Russia meddled in the election. It is the universal consensus of the entire US intelligence apparatus that Russia attacked the election.

The fact that Trump keeps changing his position in the desperate hope of finding some magic words to make this go away only makes him look even more pathetic and weak.

Trump can’t get his story straight, which is the sign of a criminal who has been caught and is looking to say anything to get himself out of trouble.
