Trump Ridiculed By Experts For Moronic Attacks On California In The Midst Of Massive Wildfires

The tasteless commander-in-chief continued to take shots at California on Monday, even as the state’s wildfires expanded further over the weekend.

Instead of showing leadership and compassion at a difficult time, Donald Trump falsely slammed California’s state government for diverting water into the Pacific Ocean as the fires continue to rage.

“California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amounts of readily available water to be properly utilized,” Trump said.

Experts laughed off Trump’s claims

It’s bad enough that Trump’s response to the disaster in California is devoid of compassion and leadership. But to make matters worse, his claims about state environmental laws and policies are completely removed from reality.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokeswoman Lynette Round said she’s not aware of any water shortage as it relates to the ongoing wildfire battle – and she would know if there was one.

UC Merced professor specializing in wildfire and climatology, LeRoy Westerling, told the paper that Trump’s statement on the fires “boggles the mind.”

“We do manage all of our rivers in California, and all the water is allocated many times over. So I’m not sure what he was recommending,” he added. “Even if we eliminated all habitat for riparian species and fish, and allowed saltwater intrusion into the delta and set up a sprinkler system over the state, that wouldn’t compensate for greater moisture loss from climate change.”

Trump refuses to acknowledge the real culprit: climate change

Instead of acknowledging that climate change – which he calls a Chinese hoax – is making these wildfires more frequent and more intense, Donald J. Trump is picking a fight with the state’s governor.

And, to nobody’s surprise, he has no idea what the hell he’s talking about.

As California continues to battle what is now the second largest wildfire in state history, they are now forced to deal with another flaming orange, out-of-control disaster in the White House.
