Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) questioned Brett Kavanaugh on race and affirmative action, and after the Supreme Court nominee refused to answer, Booker released confidential documents showing Kavanaugh’s real views.

Sen. Booker said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA, “As I’ve been saying from the beginning, this process has been a sham. The fact that tens of thousands of documents revealing a Supreme Court nominee’s views on key issues were deemed Committee Confidential and not available to the public reflects the absurdity of this process. The public has a right to access documents about a Supreme Court nominee’s views on issues that are profoundly important, such as race and the law. This process has demonstrated an unprecedented level of secrecy and opaqueness that undermines the Senate’s Constitutional duty to advice and consent.”

Cory Booker Is A Patriot Who Exposed A Sham

The entire process, from Kavanaugh’s nomination to his hearings, has been a sham. Republicans are trying to pull a fast one on the American people and nominate a right-wing extremist for the Supreme Court whose views are out of step with the mainstream of the country. Brett Kavanaugh would not be a fair and impartial justice. He is a political creature who Republicans who are trying to place on the Supreme Court in order to carry out an agenda that the majority of Americans disagree with.

Sen. Cory Booker is a patriot for releasing these documents and should be viewed as a hero.

Democrats are fighting this nomination

Democratic voters wanted a tooth and nail fight, and Senate Democrats are delivering. They aren’t sitting back and treating Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a done deal. Democrats are fighting to expose Brett Kavanaugh’s real views, and that fight is going to be rewarded and appreciated by the American people this November, and beyond.
