Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, urged George Papadopoulos to cooperate with both Mueller and the congressional investigations after he gets out of prison in two weeks.

Schiff said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA:

With his sentencing today as part of Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation, George Papadopoulos has been held to account for lying to federal investigators – lies which materially impeded the progress of the FBI’s inquiry. It is my hope that when Mr. Papadopoulos has finished his sentence, he will cooperate with congressional investigations, including our ongoing investigation in the House Intelligence Committee.

In little over a year, the Special Counsel has obtained eight convictions, and charged an additional twenty-six individuals and three corporations, including many Russians. He must be given the time and space to complete his work in a comprehensive manner, and the President and his congressional allies must cease their efforts to undermine this important investigation.

George Papadopoulos could be Trump’s newest headache

The attorney for Papadopoulos has been hinting in a not so subtle way that his client may be ready to cooperate with the investigations. Papadopoulos has probably given Mueller what he knows, but he hasn’t cooperated with Congress yet in their investigations. Rep. Schiff’s statement could be viewed as a bit of foreshadowing.

If Democrats win the House in November, Adam Schiff will be in charge of the House Russia investigation, and if Schiff is running the investigation, he is going to call Papadopoulos to testify.

The situation is getting worse Trump not by the week, or day, but by the hour.

Adam Schiff is coming for the Russia truth, and he is already beginning to work on potential witnesses to get their testimony. It is also crumbling around this president, and he may not have much time left before he is buried in the rubble of Russia crimes.
