Republicans are making it obvious that the Christine Blasey Ford hearing is meaningless to them, according to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), by scheduling a Judiciary Committee vote on Brett Kavanaugh‘s Supreme Court nomination for Friday morning.

Sen. Feinstein, the top-ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA, “For Republicans to schedule a Friday vote on Brett Kavanaugh today, two days before Dr. Blasey Ford has had a chance to tell her story, is outrageous. First Republicans demanded Dr. Blasey Ford testify immediately. Now Republicans don’t even need to hear her before they move ahead with a vote. It’s clear to me that Republicans don’t want this to be a fair process.”

The Fix Is In On The Brett Kavanaugh Nomination

Republicans are rigging the process. They are going to give a hearing to Dr. Ford’s allegations, but the Senators aren’t going to have the decency to question her themselves. Judiciary Committee Chairman Grassley has gone out of his way to rig this process and make it is as rushed and unfair as possible.

There could be no greater signal that Republicans don’t care about the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh than to schedule a vote on his nomination for the morning after the hearing. The fix is in, and it is up to the American people to stop Republicans from confirming a potential sex criminal to a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court.
