Former Solicitor General Neal Katyal said that Michael Cohen’s 3-year prison sentence means that Trump’s will be bigger.

Katyal tweeted:
At his sentencing hearing, Michael Cohen painted himself as a man who was brought down by his loyalty to Trump, but the way the law works is that the person directing the crimes gets more prison time than those who were carrying them out at his direction.
For as long as he remains president, Donald Trump isn’t going to prison. The problem for Trump will come the moment that he leaves office. It isn’t an exaggeration to suggest that the presidency is the only thing that is keeping Trump from being criminally indicted. For this reason, Trump won’t resign from office.
Voters are going to have vote Trump out in 2020. As long as Republicans control the Senate, Trump will not be convicted and removed from office. Trump doesn’t want to go to jail, so he is going to fight to stay in office until he is removed.
The day that Trump leaves office, he will likely face a sealed indictment and spending the rest of his life in prison.
Michael Cohen’s sentence was bad, but what is waiting for Trump is even worse.
