Four progressive Democrats, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ro Khanna, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib have all been named to the House Oversight Committee that will play a key role in investigating Trump and his administration.
It was reported that the progressives were added to the committee:
Under the chairmanship of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), the Oversight Committee is going to be formidable. Rep. Cummings has promised that his committee is coming to put a check on the Trump administration. For example, the Oversight Committee will be calling Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in to answer questions about the Trump administration’s citizenship question on the census.
Trump‘s worst nightmare is being checked by a committee that is made up of both experienced legislators who are experts at oversight, and firebrands who aren’t going to be afraid to challenge this White House.
Democrats are putting the pieces in place to make Trump face something that he has never seen. House Democrats are going to use their power to check the out of control president.
