Elected officials in El Paso, TX are making it clear that Trump and his border wall lies are not welcome in their community.

Garrett Haake of NBC News reported on the resolution that was passed by nearly all of the elected officials of El Paso, “I just walked out of a news conference here, not attended by Beto O’Rourke, and essentially all of the officials here and they all condemned how the president has been talking about their community. His comments about El Paso being unsafe and being untrue. And they are so worried that the county commissioners and the county judge passed this resolution today in which they say they are disillusioned by his lies regarding the border and the committee. I have not seen such an unwelcoming committee for the president and one of his rallies for a long time. It shows you how upset they were about his mention of El Paso in the State Of The Union speech.”

Rep. Veronica Escobar said at a press conference, “We are a very proud community. Unfortunately, President Trump repeated misinformation provided to him by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that El Paso was once one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. and it was the border barrier that made us safe.”
The officials are sending a clear message that they want Trump to stop lying about their community and his lies have no place in El Paso. Of course, Trump doesn’t care what the people of El Paso want. Just like he didn’t care that the people of Pittsburgh didn’t want him in their city right after the synagogue shooting. Trump is using El Paso as a prop to get his wall, but the community is fighting back.
Never in modern presidential history has a president been so unwelcome and unwanted as Trump.
El Paso doesn’t want Trump, and they are doing everything that they can to make sure that he knows that he’s not welcome.
