Desperate and Deranged: Trump Attacks Democrats For Obstructing Justice

For the first time ever Donald Trump attacked Rep. Jerry Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee chairman, on his Twitter account this morning. He is clearly not happy about the new lines of investigation into his family’s business and his presidency. He accused Democrats of going “stone cold CRAZY” and then later accused them of obstructing justice.

Early this morning Trump tweeted:

“Now that they realize the only Collusion with Russia was done by Crooked Hillary Clinton & the Democrats, Nadler, Schiff and the Dem heads of the Committees have gone stone cold CRAZY,” Trump tweeted. “81 letter sent to innocent people to harass them. They won’t get ANYTHING done for our Country!”

Nadler apparently now is Trump’s new Democratic villain after his House Judiciary Committee sent out document requests to 81 of his family members and associates.

Trump has long feuded with Nadler, whom he once derided as “Fat Jerry,” since their days in New York City.

Nadler, then a state assemblyman, helped kill Trump’s proposed Television City development in the 1980s on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

But now the Manhattan congressman seems to have the upper hand.

In January, Nadler said that Mueller’s latest court filing shows that the Trump campaign was engaged in a conspiracy to defraud the American people.

Two weeks ago, Nadler said that Donald Trump is the greatest threat to democracy since the Civil War. He also said he believes that Donald Trump clearly has obstructed justice.

Last night, in a lengthy interview on the Rachel Maddow show, Nadler explained his strategy for investigating Trump.

As Jason Easley wrote:

“It is not a fishing expedition. The committee has clear areas of investigation and thanks to Michael Cohen, a path to follow.”

“Rep. Nadler said that the committee’s investigation is not in conflict with the Mueller investigation or any other investigations.”

“While all of the attention has been on Robert Mueller, the investigation with a bigger scope and the potential for political devastation was just rolled out by Rep. Jerry Nadler.”

This morning on Twitter Trump is still attacking the Democratic investigations into his family’s business and his presidency.

UPDATE: Trump just tweeted a new accusation that Democrats are obstructing justice:

“The greatest overreach in the history of our Country. The Dems are obstructing justice and will not get anything done. A big, fat, fishing expedition desperately in search of a crime, when in fact the real crime is what the Dems are doing, and have done!”

As usual, Trump’s tweets have all the marks of a desperate and deranged man. He is vainly attempting to influence federal and congressional investigations through Twitter, but it obviously won’t work.

Justice is coming after Donald Trump, and he knows it. He also knows that his days in the White House — and as a free man — are numbered.
