Trump said that he loved Wikileaks during the 2016 presidential campaign, but he has had nothing to say since Julian Assange’s arrest.

Instead of talking about Assange, Trump is promoting his conspiracy theory that he was spied on by tweeting Fox News videos:

My how things have changed since Trump said during a 2016 rally in Pennsylvania, “Now, this just came out. Wikileaks. I love Wikileaks.

The odds are that Assange is never going to talk about what happened during the 2016 election in the US, and so far the Department of Justice has not charged him with any crimes related to his activities during the 2016 election, but Trump’s silence reflects a consistent behavior pattern with this president. He loves something while it is helping him, but he pretends not to know them when things go south.

Trump has not hesitated to defend other members of the Russia scandal, but for some reason, he has zero to say about Assange. Trump has never respected ongoing investigations before, so he isn’t staying silent out of respect for the work that is currently being done.

Donald Trump’s silence speaks volumes, as a president that always has something to say about everything has nothing to say about Julian Assange and Wikileaks.
