Republicans for the Rule of Law have a new ad using Sen. Lindsey Graham’s own words to remind of his promise to protect US elections.

The ad:

Republicans for the Rule of Law legal advisor and spokesman Chris Truax said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA:

Election security isn’t a Republican issue or a Democratic issue. It’s a national security issue that deserves the attention of every politician and every voter in America. Foreign adversaries have shown that they can hurt us by interfering in our elections, and we can’t let that happen.

Bipartisan groups of senators have come up with bills to defend our elections. The Voting System Cybersecurity Act, the DETER Act, and the Honest Ads Act are good starts, but they’re not perfect and none of them alone will keep our elections safe. Congress needs to discuss, debate, and vote on comprehensive election security legislation. If they don’t, history will remember them as the Congress who could have averted a catastrophe – but failed.

Not all Republicans have become pro-Russia follow Dear Leader American sellouts. There are some Republicans left who are fighting what Trump has turned their party into. After Trump is removed from office either via impeachment or the ballot box, it will be these Republicans who will need to step in and try to rebuild some semblance of a political party from the pile of smoldering toxic embers that Trump will leave behind.

The message to Lindsey Graham is that America hasn’t forgotten his promise, and his future rides on whether or not he has the guts to follow through.
