The White House put out a statement on Democrats beginning an impeachment inquiry into Trump that managed to be both weak and pathetic.

Here is the statement from the White House as provided to PoliticusUSA:
Americans deserve elected officials who focus on key issues to improve the lives of families, strengthen our communities, grow our economy, and keep our country safe. In President Donald J. Trump they have someone who has not only focused on those goals, but delivered results.
In a far departure from all of the work and results of this President, House Democrats have destroyed any chances of legislative progress for the people of this country by continuing to focus all their energy on partisan political attacks. Their attacks on the President and his agenda are not only partisan and pathetic, they are in dereliction of their Constitutional duty.
The Trump Administration will continue to be vigorous in laying out the facts and standing up for the many forgotten men and women who elected him.
There are some things missing from the White House response. They seem unable to list anything that Donald Trump has done to strengthen communities or families. The impeachment has nothing to do with Trump’s agenda unless Trump’s agenda is to commit crimes in order to stay in office so that the statute of limitations runs out on his other crimes. Trump is the one who has been curb-stomping the Constitution since the moment he arrived in the Oval Office, and unless bilking the taxpayers out millions of dollars by visiting properties that he owns is considered working for the American people, Donald Trump has done none of that either.
If this is the best defense that the Republican Party and White House can come up with against impeachment, they are in a world of trouble.
This all could have been avoided if Trump would have followed the law and turned over the whistleblower complaint to Congress.
Trump created this mess, and now he is sinking under the weight of his own lawless corruption.
