Rudy Giuliani was warned that his Biden/Ukraine conspiracy theory was not true, but he pushed forward anyway and got Trump impeached.
The former U.S. special envoy for Ukraine told House investigators on Thursday that he warned President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudolph W. Giuliani, that Giuliani was receiving untrustworthy information from Ukrainian political figures about former vice president Joe Biden and his son, according to two people familiar with his testimony.
Kurt Volker, who resigned last week after being named in a whistleblower complaint that sparked the House impeachment inquiry of Trump, said he tried to caution Giuliani that his sources, including Ukraine’s former top prosecutor, were unreliable and that he should be careful about putting faith in the prosecutor’s stories, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the closed door meeting.
Volker warned Trump’s lawyer that the information was not reliable, but Rudy, who believed that he found the political holy grail that could win Trump a second term, ignored him and pushed this conspiracy theory straight to Trump who mainlined it into his veins like his sixth Diet Coke of the day.
Trump is likely going to be impeached because Rudy Giuliani told him a fake story about Biden and Ukraine that he believed and then tried to pressure the Ukraine government into investigating. Trump’s actions make Nixon’s Watergate burglary look like the work of one history’s great criminal masterminds.
Donald Trump has been a dumb president, but he and Rudy are even dumber criminals.
This may be the greatest self-inflicted political wound in the history of the country.
Trump and his crackpot lawyer may bring down an entire political party, because they didn’t listen to facts and believed a debunked conspiracy theory.
