Prince’s estate said that they would never give Trump permission to use his music, but the president did so anyway at his rally in Minneapolis.

After Trump played Purple Rain at his rally, the estate for Prince tweeted:
Trump has been illegally using music from various artists since he launched his first presidential campaign, and stole from Neil Young. Trump also had to take down a campaign video because he illegally used music from a Batman movie.
The assurances from the Trump campaign that they would no longer use Prince’s music are as worthless as any other Trump promise.
The best advice that one could give any artist with a hit is to watch the beginning and end of Trump’s rallies. If Trump illegally uses your music, file the complaint, and then be prepared to sue. Because what the Trump campaign tells you doesn’t matter. Trump doesn’t care about the law in any respect. The only thing that he understands is losing money, so the best punishment for his lawlessness is to make him pay.
