Democrats Walk Out On Trump After He Blows A Gasket Over Syria Condemnation

House and Senate Democrats walked out on a meeting with Trump after the president melted down and launched into a diatribe against Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi told reporters, “What we witnessed on the part of the president was a meltdown. Sad to say.” Pelosi went on to say that the meeting couldn’t continue because Trump wasn’t grasping the reality of it.

Senate Democratic leader Sen. Chuck Schumer went into more detail, “He was insulting. Particularly to the speaker. She kept her cool completely. But he called her a third-rate this was not a dialogue. It was sort of a diatribe. A nasty diatribe.”

House Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer said, “Just briefly, you’re going to hear the President say we walked out. We were offended deeply by his treatment of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The President, in my view, has created a crisis in the Middle East. A crisis that undermines the world’s confidence in America. This crisis required a rational, reasonable discussion between those of us who’ve been elected by the American people to set policy. Unfortunately, the meeting deteriorated into a diatribe, as Leader Schumer has said, and very offensive accusations being made by the President of the United States. I have served with six presidents. I have been in many, many, many meetings like this. Never have I seen a President treat so disrespectfully a co-equal branch of the government of the United States.”

Democrats were right to walk out on Trump. Speaker Pelosi is the highest-ranking Democratic elected official in the United States. She must be treated with respect at all times. Trump has been unhinged all day. In both of his earlier public appearances, he accused Barack Obama of masterminding a conspiracy against him. The most troubling part of the description of the meeting is the characterization of Trump as being unable to comprehend reality.

Trump is a walking constitutional crisis/national security threat who is not in touch with reality.
