Elijah Cummings Signed Subpoenas For Trump Impeachment From His Hospital Bed As He Was Dying

Rep. Elijah Cummings fought for justice until the end of his life as he signed subpoenas from his hospital bed on Trump impeachment.

An aide for the late Rep. Cummings told The New York Times:

One can rarely say that a public official worked for the American people until the end of their life, but that is precisely what Elijah Cummings did. Cummings was a man of integrity who was committed to justice and fairness. Trump and the Republicans have centered their impeachment attacks on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) because even they understood that attacking the integrity of Elijah Cummings was fool’s errand.

America lost a person whose legacy is should be an example for future generations on how to serve the people.

Speaker Pelosi announced that Rep. Cummings would lie in state in National Statuary Hall in the United States Capitol on Thursday, October 24. Following a private memorial service, there will be a public viewing for a man who never stopped fighting for the American people until he took his last breath on this Earth.
