Alaska Is Turning Blue As Trump Can’t Save Republicans

Donald Trump made a big deal out of going to Alaska to try to save Sen. Dan Sullivan, but Alaskans say that it won’t help and the state is turning blue.

We are witnessing the end of the Trump era. It has been more than a decade since Donald Trump came onto the national political scene as a presidential candidate, and while the president’s critics have been predicting that his political sway would come to an end for years, there is now solid evidence and people within Trump’s party who are suggesting that it’s over.

It wasn’t Democrats or people within Trump’s own party who brought the era to an end. The person who caused the demise of the Trump Era was Donald Trump. The president got a second crack at the White House and decided that in his next administration, he would be unchecked and unrestrained.

This was like Tokyo inviting Godzilla over for coffee, then being surprised when he burned the entire city to the ground.

Republicans did this to themselves, willingly and on purpose, which means that they deserve no sympathy for the coast-to-coast destruction of their party.

Alaska has elected Democrats in the past. It has had Democratic senators, governors, and representatives. State and local Democrats have been elected. It was just 11 years ago that Alaska had a Democratic senator, Mark Begich. Current US Senate Democratic candidate Mary Peltola served Alaska in the US House from 2022 to 2025.

Electing Democrats beneath the presidential level is not a foreign concept in Alaska.

What is happening in 2026 is different.
