Republican candidate Mike Rogers spent the first Michigan US Senate debate trying to paint Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed as a Muslim extremist and implied nearly a dozen times that El-Sayed was supportive of terrorism.

On Wednesday night, the candidates met again, but this time it was El-Sayed who was on a mission to link his opponent to an extremist.

El-Sayed first introduced the MAGA bingo and told viewers to watch out for buzzwords that were designed to distract. El-Sayed said that when MAGA is distracting you, they are trying to pick your pocket.

The pivotal moment of the debate came fairly early when the candidates were asked about the Iran war, and El-Sayed delivered a 16-second answer that was devastating for the Rogers campaign.

El-Sayed said:

He has cheer-led this war all along because he stands hip to hip with Donald Trump. And if you don't believe me, I want you to pay attention on Sunday when Donald Trump comes here at the invitation of Mike Rogers to remind you that in fact, Donald Trump is on the ballot through Mike Rogers. They are hip to hip on this war, and you are paying the cost.
