There was a time just a few short years ago when the President Of The United States believed that they governed for all Americans, whether they supported the president or not.

A president is a member of a political party, but the presidency, which is supposed to be different from the person holding the office, has always been intended to be above partisanship. The presidency represents all of America and every American, and that is the way it was until Donald Trump came along.

Democrats are tapping the brakes to make sure that their supporters don’t get lulled into complacency, but the party seems to be heading for a positive result in the upcoming midterm election.

The current president is term-limited, which means that if Democrats win control of all or part of Congress, he will inhabit the office, but he will be viewed by many as keeping the seat warm for the next president to be elected in 2028.

Trump views himself as the president of Republicans. Trump views those who voted against him not as those who disagree with him, whom he still represents, but as enemies.

Trump only knows the politics of division, and with the midterm election looking like a disaster for Republicans, the president is trying to pit red against blue.
