Trump Is Completely Detached From Reality As Midterm Loss Approaches

Trump attacked Republicans who are criticizing his deal with Putin, and then delusionally claimed that his rallies are helping Republicans, as the party begs him to go away.

Donald Trump is retreating from reality as the Republican Party is facing what could be a historic midterm election defeat.

Even though Republicans are saying that Trump is sinking the entire party, the president seems to think that he is saving the midterms.

While speaking to reporters before he left for what feels like 615th rally in Ohio, Trump first criticized Republicans for not supporting his illegal diesel deal with Putin.

The president said:

Well, I think these are Republicans that can't really be serious. We have, you know, we make a lot of oil. We could do a restriction on oil, but the rest of the world would be greatly, greatly affected if we do that.

And we could do a restriction, you know, a cap on diesel, keep it all for ourselves. That would have a very big impact. And it's not really a deal with me, it's a deal for the rest of the world. So anything that could help our farmers, our ranchers, I like. And I do think this, Zelenskyy has to focus on making a deal, not talking about that.

As Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ) said, Trump’s deal with Putin is blatantly illegal. Trump is violating a law enacted three years ago banning the importation of Russian diesel.

Trump is upset that Republicans don’t like his illegal deal with Russia, but the president was also doing something else with his comments.
