House Democrats have launched their first strike to dismantle the possibly illegal House’s Select Committee on Benghazi.

The Hill reported:

House Democrats are moving ahead with a plan to dismantle the Select Committee on Benghazi, in light of renewed criticism of the committee.

During a Rules Committee hearing on Tuesday evening, Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) will attempt to attach an amendment to shut down the committee to another piece of legislation creating a new select committee to investigate Planned Parenthood.

The amendment would eliminate the language creating a new Planned Parenthood subcommittee within the Energy and Commerce Committee and replace it with language to abolish the Benghazi panel, her office said.

Republicans will shoot down this maneuver in the Rules Committee, but House Democrats are going to use every method at their disposal to get the Benghazi Select Committee shut down, because the point is to get Republicans on the record defending wasting $4.6 million taxpayer dollars on a partisan political investigation that is built on a lie.

Shutting down the committee could end up being the least of the Republican Party’s problems as thousands of Americans are petitioning for an investigation into the committee.

The Benghazi committee that was designed to get Hillary Clinton is quickly becoming a political liability for the Republican Party. It would not be much of a surprise if the committee quietly goes away by the end of the year.

Thanks to Speaker hopeful, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the Benghazi committee has been revealed to be a fraud. Democrats are going to remind the American people at every turn about the possibly illegal abuse of power that is the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
