At a Saturday event in Dayton, Ohio, Donald Trump blamed Bernie Sanders supporters for the violence that forced the cancelation of his campaign rally in Chicago.

Trump said:

What happened yesterday was incredible. We dealt with law enforcement. So good, good. We love our police. Do we love our police? But we dealt with law enforcement at level. Secret Service, great. The whole group and it was determined that if we go in, it could cause really bad vibes. And you have to understand; they want me to tell my people, please be nice, be nice. My people are nice. The people that came there are so nice. And let me tell you, the people that came there that were invited there. Thousands and thousands of people. They caused no problem. They were taunted. They were harassed by these other people.

These other people. By the way, some represented Bernie, our communist friend. Now really, Bernie should tell his people. There weren’t too many Hillary people there. You know why. I mean in all fairness to Bernie, the reason there no Hillary people, they have no fervor. There’s no fervor. Say what you want about Bernie, at least, they have a little bit of fervor. Right?

But with Bernie, he really should get up in front of his people and tell them to stop. Stop.

Trump claimed that they have a right to speak and that organized professionally trained wise guys are forcing them to fight back. Trump, who gets more media coverage than any other candidate, then whined about media dishonesty.

It is unbelievable, but not unexpected that Trump would blame Bernie Sanders supporters for the violence that his rhetoric is causing. Rachel Maddow provided proof that Trump is intentionally fanning the flames of violence with deliberate rhetoric, but facts and reality mean nothing to the Republican frontrunner.

Donald Trump’s comments suggested that he thinks that he can win a general election campaign against Bernie Sanders by portraying the senator from Vermont as a communist extremist. Trump would probably run a campaign against Sanders that would feature a 21st Century version of red-baiting, where Trump would be the candidate of red, white, and blue, and Sanders would be framed as a hammer sickle communist.

Again, it doesn’t matter that Bernie Sanders isn’t a communist. Trump would run one of the ugliest and false campaigns in history if he were matched up against Sen. Sanders. The blaming of Sanders supporters for the cancellation of Trump’s Chicago rally was not accidental. It was an intentional first step in a campaign to redefine Bernie Sanders as a communist threat to America.

Donald Trump is so detached from reality that he has created a fantasy world where Bernie Sanders thugs are harassing and provoking his innocent peace-loving supporters.
