Republicans Disgrace American Values By Setting Up Task Force To Obstruct Obama Nominee

The RNC is taking the Republican Party to a new low with a campaign that will attack Democratic presidential candidates and senators who want the Senate to do their jobs and hold hearings on President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.

The Hill reported:

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is teaming up with a prominent conservative advocacy group to block President Obama’s effort to nominate a justice to the Supreme Court.

The RNC has formed a task force to launch radio and digital attack ads, petitions and media appearances to back up Senate Republicans, who have pledged not to hold hearings or votes on Obama’s replacement for the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

The campaign is aimed at Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, Democrats running in tough Senate races and party members on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Republican National Committee is ignoring the vast majority of Americans who want the Senate to their jobs after President Obama names his appointee to the Supreme Court. The actions of the RNC demonstrate that Republicans have become everything that Democrats say they are. The RNC is catering to a small band of conservative activists, with their an agenda that is limited to saying no.

It wouldn’t matter if President Obama were to appoint a moderate, or someone that some Senate Republicans might normally be inclined to support. The Republicans have decided that the answer is already no, but they have gone beyond saying no, and are planning on attacking Democrats who support the Constitution.

Republicans have reached the point where they are going to buy ads to campaign on their anti-American platform. The RNC has no shame. They are going to promote their obstruction, and wear it as a badge of pride.

The Republican Party is disgracing the values and documents that the United States of America is built upon. Even worse, they are proud of their betrayal.
