Things are this bad, fellow citizens.
Matt Mackowiak, a conservative political and communications professional, went on a tweetstorm Wednesday warning Republicans about the dangers of Donald Trump, saying “The GOP has a drunk driver at the wheel, chugging vodka, and he’s got other people’s children in the car. He must be stopped.”
Mackowiak is no liberal. From his bio, “From 2005-2009 Matt served as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) from 2007-2009. From 2005-2007, he was Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Conrad Burns (R-MT). Before moving to Capitol Hill, Mackowiak spent time at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a political appointee, in the field during the Bush-Cheney 2004 re-election campaign, traveling for the White House advance team, and at the international public relations firm of Burson-Marsteller.”
Hang on tight:
Hoping to assist Donald Trump to a graceful exit (which is more wishful thinking on Republicans’ part, Donald Trump will not go quietly):
Mackowiak is hardly the only Republican speaking up. Jeb Bush’s national security adviser went on a very sobering tweetstorm Wednesday:
Republicans with integrity are alarmed. They were alarmed before Trump’s speech today.
After listening to Donald Trump’s Wednesday speech in Florida, I am compelled to say that he needs medical intervention, and this is not a joke or meant as snark.
