Trump Could End Up In Prison As He Continues To Solicit Illegal Foreign Donations

Calls for a full Justice Department investigation into the Trump campaign are growing as the Republican nominee continues to illegally solicit foreign donations.

Jonathan Swan of The Hill tweeted the news that Trump is continuing to raise money from illegal sources:

There is no good answer for why Donald Trump is continuing to solicit illegal foreign donations. Trump is facing a criminal and an FEC complaint, but he either doesn’t care, or his campaign is completely incompetent.

Bipartisan watchdog groups have been urging the Department of Justice to open a criminal probe into Trump and his campaign as the candidate has ignored all attempts to get him to halt the illegal fundraising solicitations.

Before anyone suggests that this is a mountain being made out of a molehill, it is important to remember that former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was subject to a criminal investigation and forced from office over campaign finance violations that occurred during her 2012 presidential campaign. Bachmann and her campaign faced a years-long investigation into her campaign finance violations that ended with Bachmann “retiring” from the House.

The soliciting of donations from foreign nationals is illegal. If the Trump campaign accepted and kept any money from foreign nationals, it would be grounds for a criminal probe that could land Trump and/or members of his campaign in prison.

Donald Trump thinks that he is above the law, which is why he isn’t going to stop illegally raising money until law enforcement steps in.

The Trump operation is looking less and less like a presidential campaign and more like a lawless criminal enterprise with each passing day.
