Lock Him Up: Robert Mueller Is Exploring Prosecuting Trump’s Financial Crimes With Russia

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is following the money, and where it is leading him is to a potential prosecution of Trump for financial crimes with Russia.

CNN reported, “One year after the FBI opened an investigation, the probe is now managed by special counsel Robert Mueller. Sources described an investigation that has widened to focus on possible financial crimes, some unconnected to the 2016 elections, alongside the ongoing scrutiny of possible illegal coordination with Russian spy agencies and alleged attempts by President Donald Trump and others to obstruct the FBI investigation. Even investigative leads that have nothing to do with Russia but involve Trump associates are being referred to the special counsel to encourage subjects of the investigation to cooperate, according to two law enforcement sources.”

Robert Mueller isn’t playing. The CNN report also states that investigators see a more concrete path towards potential prosecution in Trump’s financial dealings with Russian than they see in Trump potential collusion with Russia.

The fact that there are at least three avenues of potential criminal prosecution, election crimes, obstruction of justice, and financial crimes illustrates that the Trump administration is fundamentally corrupt.

The reason why Trump starts freaking out and threatening to fire people anytime that he his finances are mentioned is that that is likely where the real easy to prove crimes are. The financial crimes also provide a pressure tool that can be used to get witnesses to talk. The investigation into Trump doesn’t have to be an either or choice. The President could be charged with financial crimes and obstruction of justice.

Trump is freaking out because Robert Mueller is getting closer to uncovering the secrets that could bring him down.
