Trump’s Cover Story Crumbles As Prosecutors Look To Charge Russian Officials For DNC Hack

Trump’s constant denials that Russia was behind the DNC hack were dealt a death blow as prosecutors say that they have enough evidence to bring charges against 6 Russian government officials for the hack and could move forward on the case next year.

The Wall Steet Journal reported, “The Justice Department has identified more than six members of the Russian government involved in hacking the Democratic National Committee’s computers and swiping sensitive information that became public during the 2016 presidential election, according to people familiar with the investigation. Prosecutors and agents have assembled evidence to charge the Russian officials and could bring a case next year, these people said. Discussions about the case are in the early stages, they said.”

Trump’s claim that we don’t know who hacked the DNC has always been laughable, but now his own Justice Department has gathered enough evidence to charge members of the Russian government with the crime. The question remains why was Trump trying to cast doubt on the source of the hack? The logical answer is that Trump and his campaign were working with the Russians and the one sure way to try to keep their conspiracy a secret was to discredit reports that Russia was behind the hacking.

One by one, Trump’s cover stories on the Russia scandal are coming apart. A Trump campaign adviser has pled guilty to lying to the FBI about trying to set up Trump/Russia meetings. Trump’s campaign manager was taking and laundering money from Russian oligarchs, and Russian government officials could be charged with the DNC hack.

Trump is running out of avenues for plausible deniability.

All roads lead to the conclusion that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, and the biggest red flag that the President knew what was going on is his false denial that Russia was behind the DNC hack.
