No Lie: Stormy Daniels’ Polygraph Test Supports Her Claims

When you think of the Wall Street Journal you don’t think of tabloid journalism but in a blockbuster article today the capitalist newspaper published the results of porn star Stormy Daniels’ lie detector test about her sexual relationship with President Donald Trump.  According to the Journal, a polygraph exam which was taken by Ms. Daniels in 2011 said that she was telling the truth about her alleged affair with Donald Trump in 2006 and 2007.

In its article the Journal says that The extraordinary legal battle between the president of the United States and a former adult-film star has been building for seven years,” and “the standoff is rapidly escalating.”

The highly respected conservative financial newspaper somehow obtained a copy of the polygraph test which Daniels (whose real name is Stephanie Clifford) took on May 19, 2011. The results of the polygraph strongly supported her claim that she had unprotected sex with Trump beginning in July of 2006.

Another claim of Ms. Daniels that was subjected to the polygraph exam was that President Trump had promised her that he would arrange it so that she could become a contestant on his popular TV show, “The Apprentice.”  According to the Journal the exam could not provide conclusive evidence on this claim one way or another.

Trump and his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, have consistently denied that the president ever had a sexual relationship with Ms. Daniels.  However, Trump and Cohen are engaged in highly-publicized lawsuits with her that concern a contract (called a nondisclosure agreement or NDA) she signed to receive $130,000 ‘hush money’ payment in exchanged for keeping silent about the affair.

Cohen has admitted that he made the $130,000 payment to Daniels, but denied it involved a violation of any federal campaign finance laws.  Earlier this month Daniels filed a lawsuit attempting to void the NDA, claiming that Trump never signed it, so it is not legally binding. The president then sued the adult film actress claiming she had broken the agreement 20 times and owes him $20 million in damages under the terms of the contract.

Polygraph test results are not admissible in court in a trial setting so this news article will probably have no direct bearing on any of the lawsuits which have been filed.  However, they do provide more embarrassing information for the press (as well as the public) which can’t seem to get enough Stormy Daniels news.

Ms. Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti has given a large number of high-profile media interviews over the past week promoting her story.  According to Avenatti, Ms. Daniels will “tell all” in an interview that is scheduled to air on “60 Minutes” on Sunday.
