Mueller Is Making It Clear: The Special Counsel Case Against Trump Is Solid

Despite efforts to undermine and smear the Special Counsel investigation, Robert Mueller continues to signal that he is unfazed by the outside noise.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who overseas Mueller’s probe, has also taken a strong position against GOP threats in recent days, saying Justice Department “is not going to be extorted.”

According to former lawyer and current congressman Ted Lieu (D-CA), the behavior on the part of Mueller and Rosenstein shows that the case against Trump is probably solid.

Rep. Lieu’s theory should have people in Trumpland very nervous:

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller are very aware that the president might fire them. There’s all these people asking them to be fired. Yet they have very strong statements with Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein saying the Justice Department would not be extorted. Mueller threatening to subpoena. Which tells me they have got really strong evidence. They believe they have got a really strong case. I think that’s why they are acting this way.

The Special Counsel is not intimidated by Trump

There couldn’t be a great contrast between the behavior of Donald Trump and that of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel team, particularly in recent weeks as the White House becomes more desperate to kill this inquiry.

While the president and his blindfolded mob of apologists do all they can to undermine the investigation, Mueller and his team – including Rosenstein – are systematically working to get to the bottom of what happened during and after the 2016 election. They don’t appear intimidated.

Trump’s behavior, on the other hand, suggests a consciousness of guilt. The new move by the president’s legal team to bring on a Clinton impeachment lawyer further demonstrates that.

Mueller’s confident persistence – ignoring all the noise and attacks from the White House while pushing for a sit-down interview with the president – suggests he has a strong case. So, too, does the news this week that Mueller is considering issuing a presidential subpoena.

As Robert Mueller gets closer to the conclusion of his investigation, it’s becoming apparent that he believes his case against Donald Trump is solid, and no amount of Trump bluster will change that.
